Serious question! About my wife and son.?

My wife found out if she does not give birth by wednesday, she will be induced either later that evening or thursday morning. She is all freaked out. She was due june first and wednesday she has a appointment for a fetal distress test and if she makes it till then, thats when her dr will tell her either that night or thursday morning. On her last overdue appointment june second, she was only seventy percent thinned out so whats going to happen? Does it hurt?
