Need advice for buying a watch ?

I've been in a real need of a good quality watch for quite some time now. Even in the office, i go with bare hands with a nice watch absent from my wrist. But i make sure that my long french manicured nails catch people's attention.. haha. Coming back... i really need some advice on buying a nice modern and bold watch giving out a statement. But i am confused... i went to a watch showroom but couldnt make up my mind and came out without buying anything. Should i go for a bracelet watch or a bold ,oversized dial black leather strap watch ? Dont really know what's in fashion these days but have been noticing girls and women wearing those big dial watches almost looking like mens watches.Though looked even nice on them.... I used to wear a golden bracelet watch long time ago, but once it got damaged , i didnt get time to repair it or even buy a new one. I want a timepiece that could be worn in the office giving a powerful impression and also casually at home or going out with my bf or friends. Dont want something that is too catchy and fake. I even dont like watches that are too girly though i havnt tried wearing mens watches, although my lot of friends wear them.Since most of the men's watches come with black leather strap so it is one of the options to go for. I have an average wrist and my hands are also pretty average, a little bit on the bigger side i would say. So girls please help me out choose a piece with the details like bracelet or strap, color , size, dial size and color.....
