World rally championship?

i remember when i was a kid me and my dad couldnt wait for wrc to come home to uk, the cars would be racing up an down motorway trying to avoid getting pulled by police so they can get to the next stage of the rally, stages like chatsworth house, super special stage, people like malcolm wilson racing the escort cosworth, carls sainz in the toyota celica, then later on colin mcrae taking the impreza to victory in 1995. now its just in wales and dosnt seem to have that spark it used to have, i saw a program on sky interviewing various drivers and they all seemed to say the same, that it just isnt how it used to be, how they miss the competativeness, now its purely down to the car and not as much the driver and the stages seem to be less demanding. anyway does anyone think the older days of wrc will be back?
