Do you think it would be too difficult to take Spanish and French at the same time?

I want to be fluent in both languages. It is more important to be fluent in Spanish than French, as I will be studying abroad in a Spanish-speaking country. I want to improve my French comprehension and spoken and written ability for commutative proficiency as well, but seeing as they are very similar, I might confuse them. I have been studying French for quite a while, but I have only been studying Spanish for a few months (albeit, through an intensive program).
